Clowning around
Digital, Corel Painter, 2014.
Got lazy towards the end of this piece, and i'm not super-pleased with it.

Kranion
Digital, Corel Painter, 2014.
Wanted to do more in terms of background and surrounding details, but I got stuck and finally gave up in order to move on to other stuff.

Tea Time
Acrylic on canvas, 2014.
Took me quite some time to finish this piece. These days I tend to work at a slower pace.

What is good art?
To me, the purest and most appealing art is one that is honest. It should be honest in it's delivery and in what it wants to be. When a "good" artist tries to externalise an intimate and honest expression onto a canvas, he/she uses all tools and means necessary to achieve just that. The desire to do so should be so strong, that he/she forces himself/herself to grow better in all aspects of his/her artistry in order to create what he/she believes has to be created. The urge should be so intense that the artist simply can't move on until he/she achieves his/her vision.
If this is your process when creating, then it's a pure and honest form of art and therefor more interesting and unique.

Sketching...
Fingerpainting some more in Artrage on the ipad. Sticking to familiar subject makes it easier to learn the new software.
Sinful saturday: BREAKFAST
view full image
Today is Sinful Saturday, which means i get to eat whatever I want and as much as i want. Starting the day with baking some potato-rolls for this evening's burgers. I'll also eat a few rolls for breakfast, paired with pear-ginger marmelade, cheese and butter.

Magnificent leather!
Got this sexy little leathercover for my ipad the other day. It's made by KAVAJ and the price is quite reasonable compared to similar covers by other companies-
I'm a father!
On the 10th of january 2014, I became the proud father of a boy. His name is Charlie, a future nuisance and referencemodel for my paintings.
Might produce less art for a while, but I'll be back in full swing eventually.

"Pothead"
Digital, Corel Painter, 2013
I created a piece this summer, called "War is here", on a commission from the band REPAY and this piece started out as the first sketch/draft/version and was rejected. I saved the sketch and just recently reworked it into what it is now.

"COUGH"
Digital speedpainting in Corel Painter, 2013.
This started out as a quick sketch, just to break away from some other stuff that I had been doing. so ambition was just to relax and have fun. As you can see in the video, I don't really have a plan and I change direction several times.

Digital painting, Corel Painter, 2013
Made a portrait of myself. I usually hesitate to do so, because it sort of stirs up my insecurity a bit, but it's always good to get out of one's comfortzone.
If you want me to make one of these for you, from a photo of your choice, then let me know. I'm currently back to doing digital portraits on commission for a while. They are 40$ a piece. I've set out to do 20, so hurry up and order one if you are interested. You can choose the format/size, but the default setting I use is 50x70cm at 150 dpi.

I have fans...
These images found their way to me the other day. Seems that my piece, "The babysitter", has managed to permanently tocuh people in the way of tattooes. Really cool and flattering.

Needs a title
Digital, Corel Painter, 2013
I have no clue what this one is about, and I really can't come up with a clever title either,
Experimented a lot with different brushes and kept it very dark intentionally.

Lately I haven't been able to produce much. Kinda been suffering from a case of bad confidence after failing a series of attempts at producing a specific commissioned piece. So, with this one I took all pressure off myself and tried to keep it very loose and experimental. Focused more on a dramatic light than actual detail and shapes. I'm happy with it and feel eager to get back into a more productive mode.

The Venus Flytrap
Acrylic on canvas, 2013
I have a hard time doing anything else than characters and faces, so the goal was to paint an object of some sort. Instead of a still life painting of an apple or a vase with flowers, I decided to something more vulgar yet not pornographic. I strived for the photorealistic quality, yet trying to keep a certain clean estethic and then also adding a touch of humor with the flies and the title. I was actually gonna call it "The Juicer" and have some dripping action in there, but in the end it was better this way.
