Mongo Lloyd
Lately I haven't been able to produce much. Kinda been suffering from a case of bad confidence after failing a series of attempts at producing a specific commissioned piece. So, with this one I took all pressure off myself and tried to keep it very loose and experimental. Focused more on a dramatic light than actual detail and shapes. I'm happy with it and feel eager to get back into a more productive mode.

The Venus Flytrap
I have a hard time doing anything else than characters and faces, so the goal was to paint an object of some sort. Instead of a still life painting of an apple or a vase with flowers, I decided to something more vulgar yet not pornographic. I strived for the photorealistic quality, yet trying to keep a certain clean estethic and then also adding a touch of humor with the flies and the title. I was actually gonna call it "The Juicer" and have some dripping action in there, but in the end it was better this way.

Mutt
Not too satisfied with this piece. I do like some of the textures and spatter, and also the head and neck is cool, but I'm mostly bothered by the lack of contrasting colors and some of the less dynamic values. In the end I grew tired of trying to figure out how to fix these issues and just left it like this instead.
