The goldfish syndrome

The colors and the expression are all playful and fun, but the pink "plants" actuall spell out "dementia"(first I thought to go with alzhemier, but I changed my mind). The whole piece is supposed to be hard to "piece together" much like a person who suffers from dementia/alzheimer have a hard time putting together information/memories.
And of course, the title and the image refers to the poor short-term memory of the goldfish.

Visited my grandmother this christmas and saw this old piece. I can't remember ever making this piece, but it looks like I painted it back in 2001. It's acrylics on canvas. Looks like poop, but it's fun to get som perspective on my artistic growth.

Focused on getting some clever design done in this one. I'm happy with the way I managed to use symbols of royalty and translate it into an ocean-theme. I tried to get some cool color-contrasts/balances in there as well.
I think my favorite details are the fish-sleeves and the little enslaved key-chain seahorse.
